WAC DIALOGUE
Speaker's Remarks:   In the aftermath of September 11, 2001, national security concerns have become the focus of the general public and of federal authorities. But some citizens and commentators have criticized the government for using national security as an excuse to curtail civil liberties. The question before you is, How much of your civil rights are you willing to surrender to be safe? This was the topic of the WAC dialogue on February 13, 2010.

The group was moderated by Rick Rhodes and Michael Solomon. There were over 30 WAC members in attendance at the Northern Trust Savings bank in Palm Beach. As the spirited dialogue continued it became evident that most of the attendees were concerned with how far the government will go to protect us while at the same time not infringing on our civil rights. The discussions wandered between personal security and terrorism.

Although no clear cut conclusion was met, it appears that most of the attendees were left with much to contemplate.
